He joked that he was called “Slim” when he left the Air Force. He ran all the athletic programs at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida and spent one year at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. Gary drove the ALCAN Highway one summer.

Gary attended Bob Jones University for two years, majoring in business and then earned his real estate license and had his own real estate business. He then worked for John D. Hollingsworth on Wheels Inc. in the business office. He then moved to Roadway. Gary, not surprisingly, will be coming out of retirement to play Santa Claus this holiday season. He has both the looks and the disposition.

Gary has played with the Foothills Senior Golf Association for eleven years. He enjoys the challenge of golf and the camaraderie of the links. Those who have played with Gary know him as a skilled golfer and great playing partner. It’s always a good round when Gary is in your foursome.
