Welcome
The Foothills Senior Golf Association is the upstate’s oldest senior golf organization. We have over 150 members and play our tournaments on the second Thursday of each month. We usually have over 100 participants in our tournaments and give out over $700 in prizes (pro shop merchandise certificates). We also have closest to the pin prizes on par three holes. Our monthly tournaments are stroke play events and are flighted according to handicaps. Points are awarded to the winners in each flight and accumulate throughout the calendar year. We accommodate requests for friends to play in the same group whenever possible.
Handicaps
Handicaps are determined by USGA guidelines and are calculated after each tournament. New members must submit proof of their last ten scores from their home club or have a SCGA handicap.
Membership
Yearly dues are $21.00 which includes a $1.00 hole-in-one insurance fee. The hole-in-one pot currently is $450. There is a one-time $10.00 initiation fee for a total of $31.00. You are invited to play as a guest before making a decision to join us.
Annual Prizes
After the December tournament, the top ten point earners receive cash awards. In 2010, members shared over $1200 in end-of-the-year prize money.
Golf Trips
The Tournament Director arranges overnight (some participants choose to travel back and forth or play in only one of the tournaments) golf trips every year. Guests and wives (playing or non-playing) are invited to join us . All guests are eligible for tournament prizes with a verifiable handicap.
